DESERT WINDS BEAGLES |

I believe that you should get the puppy that is right for you. Therefore, I ask you to research Beagles before you decide to buy one. While I think that the Beagle is one of the most fantastic dogs you could ever own, they may not necessarily be the right breed for your situation and family. Beagles do not like to be left alone; they are a pack-oriented dog and need the companionship of either their human pack or at least one other dog. Beagles also love to run and need a good yard with an escape proof fence. Once a Beagle is out of his or her yard he or she will be oblivious to the rest of the world and will only listen to his or her nose; you can yell all you want but your Beagle most likely will not respond to you. I strongly suggest that you never let your Beagle out of the yard unless you are walking it on a leash. If your situation is such that your dog is going to be left at home alone for long periods of time or you do not have a well-fenced yard with room to run then I suggest that you look into a different breed. The links on this page should help you with your research. |
